Careers Kiosks Coming to Waimakariri

Thanks to sponsorship by Mayor’s Taskforce for Jobs (MTFJ) Waimakariri we will soon see careers kiosks rolled out across the District.

Mayor Dan Gordon says. “These are a great resource for young people across the District and I’m sure will be a well used tool helping young people research careers options. The kiosks compliment the work of Mayor’s Taskforce for Jobs and it’s really pleasing to see this initiative continue to grow and provide continued support for our young people.”

Two kiosks have been installed in the Rangiora and Kaiapoi Libraries and more will be installed in High Schools and Area Schools later this month. People will be able to log in to the kiosk with just a mobile number and then can access a whole range of video resources showcasing vocational career pathways including:

  • Primary industries
  • Construction and infrastructure
  • Service industries
  • Social and community services
  • Manufacturing and Technology
  • Creative Industries

People can then access more information about specific work and training opportunities through links to various employment and training websites.

These kiosks are an additional resource that support the work of the Mayor’s Taskforce for Jobs which aims to support young people currently not in education, employment or training into the local workforce.
