This notice is to explain specific impacts for the section along Lovers Lane, adjacent to your property.

As part of the work, a new water main will be laid beneath the pathway along Lovers Lane between King Street and Ashley Street.

The work will include

• Evacuation of the Lovers Lane pathway and installation of a new water main
• Reinstatement of the pathway
• Heavy pruning and some removal of vegetation within the Council owned land alongside the path to enable construction
• Potential removal of some trees withing the Council owned land alongside the path to enable construction
• Replacement planting for removed vegetation
• Construction access, and site lay down are established in Hazeldean Reserve.

Timing of work

This is part of a larger construction project which is programmed to be undertaken between July and December 2025. The works within Lovers Lane are expected to occur over a three to four month period within this window. Specific timing will be confirmed once the contractor is engaged.

How the work may affect you

There will be noise and vibrations typical of construction throughout this period. Some loss of screening from high plantings and threes within the laneway adjacent to your property boundary may occur. There are no planned works within private property, or impact on vegetation inside of private property excluding pruning of branches which extend into the reserve. There is no planned removal of boundary fencing.

The pathway will be closed to the public over the course of the works. Hazeldean Reserve off Durham Street will likely also be largely closed to the public for a two to four month period during this construction time frame, which some on-street parking at the end of Durham Street also affected.

Traffic impacts

Lovers Lane will be closed to public access and some street parking will be close on Durham Street over the course of the works. There will be other traffic impacts away from Lovers Lane as explained in the previous notice.
