The work will include
Modifying the watermain so it crosses under Southbrook Stream rather than over it. This will protect a critical water asset and future proof the site by creating additional space for the potential widening, or replacement, of the adjacent culvert.
Timing of work
Residents are asked to conserve water during the times mentioned above, the general project will be completed by 19 July, which includes removal of all traffic management.
Traffic Impacts
During construction Townsend Road will be down to one lane between South Belt and Fernside Road with temporary traffic lights in place.
An overnight road closure is planned on 7 July to complete the connection of the new water main, detours will be in place via Lehmans Road and Todds Road.
