As the winter months approach, the Waimakariri District Council is urging rural landowners to take proactive steps in maintaining their shelter belts.

It’s that time of year when the oranges, reds and golds of autumn are creating a beautiful scene across the District.  With the beauty, also comes the drop of leaves along the berms, footpaths and gutters of tree-lined streets.

Picture this: a tsunami wave will hit Pegasus Bay in one hour. Where would you go? What would you do?

Communities across the district will come together this ANZAC Day to remember and reflect.
