It's Parks Week

Parks Week runs from 3 -10 March this year and is all about spending time in our parks and open spaces and experiencing the positive influence getting outside can have on our wellbeing.

We've got loads of activities to get your family out in nature this Parks Week.

Bug Rounds:

Bug rounds are wooden discs placed onto bare soil (look for a pink dot to be able to spot them). Invertebrates love to hide underneath - lift gently and see what creepy crawlies are living beneath. Use our bug rounds to help complete your invertebrate scavenger hunt.

⏰ All week - anytime📍 Kaiapoi Domain, Owen Stalker Park, Victoria Park, Matawai Park, and around Rangiora Library
👦 All ages

Scavenger Hunts:

We've got outdoor themed scavenger hunts for you to try this week.

Power Spots Waimakariri

“Power Spots” are places believed to endow visitors with refreshing or healing energy. In Japan, the concept generally centers around feng shui principles and sites where the Earth’s energy is said to well up—meaning many power spots are tied to ancient shrines, creation myths and Shugendo mountain worship.

⏰ All week - anytime📍 Matawai Park, Ashely Gorge Reserve Giant Redwood Tree, Oaks Reserve Oxford, Ohoka Bush Walk and Tūhaitara Coastal Park
