MetService still has parts of Waimakariri in a Heavy Rain Watch until 7pm tonight.
The good news is this has a low chance of upgrading to a ‘Warning’ level and it looks like the most intense rainfall is behind us.
Drainage
Council teams have been monitoring our drainage systems and these are managing the rain well.
Roads
Roads are all open. We are expecting surface flooding across our roading network so please drive to the conditions.
Also, rivers will be rising so do not cross any fords if they are up. Keep an eye on our website for any ford closures. Keep an eye out on ford and road closures here.
