The Waimakariri Health Advisory Group is looking for an independent Chairperson. This is a voluntary 3-year appointment.
The Waimakariri Health Advisory Group (WHAG) was established in 2004 to provide advice to the Waimakariri District Council on health issues, to be a forum where health needs are discussed and to progress shared solutions and approaches across the District.
Its members currently represent a cross section of 15 health sectors and two primary health organisations.
WHAG meets on a bi-monthly basis on the first Tuesday of the month, from 6pm – 7.30pm in the Committee Rooms, Waimakariri District Council, Rangiora.
Preference will be given to someone who:
- Has governance experience
- Has an existing affiliation to the local health sector
- Lives/works in the Waimakariri District
- Has existing community networks
- Can and will commit to participation in a bi-monthly meeting, and can actively and effectively communicate with other WHAG representatives; as well as others involved in their area of representation
- Is prepared to participate in project work that may arise.
